Beauty surrounds us, but usually we need to be walking in a garden to know it. -Rumi

My work is rooted in the delicate beauty of the natural world and expressed through watercolor, gouache and the luminous touch of gold leaf. I use these materials to explore themes of nature and our relationship with it.

I draw inspiration from the quiet poetry of wild spaces and the thoughtful reverence of gardens. I am particularly fascinated by the tension that exists between organic and cultivated spaces. How this duality reflects our relationship with the natural world and our own interior lives.

I find experiencing nature alongside my young son an endless source of inspiration. Seeing the world through his eyes: full of wonder, curiosity, and openness. It reveals magic in even the smallest details and renews my desire to create.

Each painting is meant to be a celebration of nature. But beyond that, I hope to invite reflection on what is at stake in our changing world, and to gently ask what role we each play in preserving or transforming the spaces we inhabit.
